The GoPro Games really outdid themselves with the stand up paddle events this year. The number of competitors was higher than any previous year having close to 100 SUP athletes registered for the event. They spiced things up with the start for the SUP Cross event and they kept the crowd on their feet with the SUP invitational event.

In celebration of the United Nations designated World Oceans Day, nonprofit environmental organization Sustainable Surf is proud to announce that leading Stand Up Paddleboard & Windsurf brand, Starboard, has joined their ECOBOARD Project program as their newest partner.
This World Oceans Day sees the official launch of SUPKids, an educational program for 5-12 year olds designed to teach kids SUP, water safety & environmental education. Starboard & SUPKids are now rolling the program out globally, and looking for SUP schools, stores & athletes who would be interested in becoming SUPKids delivery centres.

With pros like Naish's Kai Lenny and Starboard's Connor Baxter getting a ton of attention for their downwind SUP hydrofoiling adventures the groms who look up to them were eager to try the new craze as well.
Go Foils are the latest and greatest trend on the water right now with stand up paddling and although it’s not the first time we’ve seen hydrofoiling mixed with stand up paddling, it’s now starting to blow up. The production team over at Starboard SUP has been working on incorporating the Go Foils into their product line and they’ve just started taking pre-orders for their surf and race boards.
The Waterman League is proud to announce its return to Germany for the Mercedes-Benz SUP World Cup, stop 2 of the 2016 Stand Up World Series that will take place from the 24th - 26th June at the beautiful coastal town of Scharbeutz with $25,000 in prize money.

The 2016 Victoria Cup in Japan was a great event with one of the most stacked fields ever in the Stand Up World Series. The top 20 were chomping at the bit and hungrier then ever.
