The last several years have seen a dramatic rise in the number of stand up paddlers racing. ·The Hanohano Huki Ocean Challenge rose from 100 SUP racers in 2010 and 170 in 2011 to 270 SUPers in 2012. Will the trend continue in 2013? Learn more and watch the 2012 race video here.

Part 2 of The Starboard Race Tour 2012 took place on Reunion Island last month in the Indian Ocean, East of Madagascar and has·a beautiful view of the higher mountain, “le piton des neiges”. ·The race brought both natives and tourists to view and enjoy the event.

The race begins at the Parker Dam, in California and finishes at the Blue Water Resort and Casino, which is in Arizona. ·A two state stand up paddle race? Yes, so come on out and join the fun!
After the distance race yesterday in the Stand Up World Series Final, Kai Lenny has taken the lead. Today will be the final sprint races after which the 2012 champions will be crowned.
This weekend don't forget to keep an eye on the Stand Up World Series. The World Championship Finals are this Friday through Sunday at Turtle Bay on the North Shore of Oahu.
