London SUP Open Showcases Race Elite in Fierce Competition

The first stop on the 2018 APP World Tour exploded out of the gates in the iconic city of London on July 7-8, 2018. This multi-tiered event, featuring Pro, Pro AM and Amateur racing for all levels of paddlers was showcased in two iconic locations around the city, including a 4km course on the historic Thames River, 200 meter sprint races and an 11km distance course held on the Royal Victoria Docks in East London.

APP Announces Support for ISA as SUP’s Governing Body

The International Surfing Association (ISA) welcomed the support of the Association of PaddleBoard Professionals (APP) and the elite, professional athletes of StandUp Paddle (SUP), after they jointly released a statement recognizing the ISA as the sole world governing body for the sport.

Event Disorganization Taints Intense Competition in Hossegor

We are deep in the midst of racing season and things continue to get more interesting. Last weekend the elite SUP field took over the southern commune of Hossegor in France for the Hossegor Paddle Games - stop #6 of the Paddle League World Tour and week 8 of the Euro Tour.

Portugal SUP Movement and Law Under Attack by ICF

In a recent announcement made by the International Canoe Federation (ICF) Esposende, Portugal was announced as the location of their inaugural SUP World Championship to be held later this year. Now in a recent turn of events, the Portuguese Surfing Federation has made a statement saying that the ICF and this event will not take place because it is simply against the Portuguese Laws.
