CARLSBAD, California – The Pacific Paddle Games presented by Salt Life this weekend (Sept. 30 to Oct. 2) at Doheny State Beach is not just for experienced paddlers. The West Marine Demo Zone will offer something for everyone, from beginner to advanced and everything in between, including the largest selection of demos in SUP and shopping from the industry’s top brands, free clinics, yoga and the chance to meet legendary athletes. With waves forecast in the three-to-four foot range and temps in the 70s, it’s going to be an epic weekend to get down to the beach for some paddling action.
The West Marine Demo Zone will run Friday (9/30) through Sunday (10/2) from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Beginner SUP clinics will run all day each day and the Kind Snacks Morning Yoga Hosted by I Heart Yoga will run on Saturday and Sunday from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Surfing/SUP legend Gerry Lopez will be signing autographs from 11 a.m. to noon on Saturday in the Maui Jim booth. The West Marine Demo Zone will also offer daily prize giveaways including a grand prize weekend getaway; register at the West Marine Demo Zone registration booth to be entered.
With a $60,000-prize purse on the line, the most money ever offered in paddling, all of the top professionals in the world will be competing this weekend at the second annual Pacific Paddle Games as well as almost 500 amateur participants across a range of disciplines including professional, amateur and youth divisions.
