World SUP Festival 2025 Showcases Elite Talent from 28 Nations

SANTA POLA, Spain – The World SUP Festival once again proved why it’s one of the most anticipated stops on the Euro Tour, delivering world-class racing in spectacular ocean conditions. With elite paddlers from 28 countries in attendance, the event highlighted the incredible depth of international talent in stand-up paddleboarding.

Women's Race Recap

Spain’s Espe Barreras claimed victory with a masterful performance, building momentum throughout the race and edging out a tight finish to take the win. Puerto Rico’s Mari Carmen Rivera led for much of the course and looked poised for another win before finishing second. In third place, Alba Frey of the Canary Islands raced with steady precision, always in contention. Spain’s Duna Gordillo put on another solid performance to finish fourth, while Costa Rica’s Jenny Kalmbach, in her Euro Tour debut, impressed with a strong and experienced showing, rounding out the Top 5.

Men’s Race Recap

Japan’s Shuri Araki delivered a commanding performance, leading from start to finish and taking home the long-awaited win in Santa Pola under conditions that perfectly suited his strengths. Spain’s Aaron Sanchez stayed closest to the leader throughout the race, finishing second in one of his best performances yet.

France’s Arthur Arutkin led a strong French contingent with a third-place finish after a powerful comeback. Fellow French paddler Ethan Bry followed closely in fourth with a race that drew widespread praise. Australia’s Michael Booth, a multiple-time event winner, showed once again that he thrives in tough conditions, finishing fifth.

Juniors and Foil Events

The junior races were another highlight of the weekend, featuring an incredibly talented and diverse field of international young athletes. In the Foil Downwind SUP event—the largest edition of the discipline to date—France’s Clément Colmas and Spain’s Iballa Ruano Moreno claimed victory in challenging conditions, showcasing the explosive growth of this exciting format.
