SAN DIEGO, California - Hello human friends, my name is Kona! I am one and a half years old and I want to share with you why being a pup is the best ever. I don’t have to work or clean like my humans do - instead I get to play, eat treats left under the table and take lots and lots of naps! But one of my most favorite reasons it’s awesome to be me is because my humans take me out on a SUP, that is, a Stand Up Paddle board!

I want to share with you 5 reasons why being on a SUP is awesome for a pup like me.

5. Time with my humans.

My humans are my most favorite thing in this whole world, so to spend more time with them is the best!

4. Walking is BORING

Don’t get me wrong, I love going on walks and being able to get outside of my house, but sometimes it just gets sooo boring! I’ve already seen the bush down the street a million times! Getting out on that SUP allows me to see so many different things and smell a whole bunch of stuff that is new and fresh!

3. Different Activities

I can do some SUP Yoga, where else do you think the term ‘downward dog’ came from? I can also go fishing! I love love love fishing! It’s my favorite to help my human get it out of the water and it wiggles all over the place. It’s funny to watch and gets me excited! Another thing I can do on the SUP, only if I’m feeling brave, is to ride waves! It takes a lot of practice, but once I get the hang of it, I like going fast!

2. Swimming!

Unless you’re a scaredy cat, most of us pups LOVE to go swimming. Swimming is so fun! It helps cool me down in the hot weather, not to mention it is great exercise for me!

1. My human is always happy

One of the most rewarding things ever is to see my human happy, especially when it’s because of something I did. I love to hear them say “good job!” It’s my favorite.

For those of you pups who haven’t tried the coolest thing ever, you should beg your human to take you with them! Just make sure you know how to doggie paddle!
