GRAN CANARIA, Spain - After a great U21 elimination at the La Cicer venue yesterday, the final of the U21 boys division was kept for today to take advantage of the new swell and more performance focused surf on offer at El Lloret. This left the final two, Titouan Pajot and Zane Saenz to battle it out at the end of a long day of action in El Lloret in what turned out to be a scrappy affair. It started out all wrong for Titouan, getting caught out by a big set before the start of the heat that broke his leash and left his board to get destroyed on the rocks.

After a rescue by the legend Vilayta Santiago on the Red Bull Ski, Titouan was able to get back out on a borrowed board and put together a good performance in tricky conditions that proved enough to take victory over Zane Saenz. In the last seconds of the heat and needing a small score to take the win, Zane identified a wave to do just that. Unfortunately he was unable to get into the wave before the horn sounded, leaving Titouan to take victory in the U21 division of the 2025 Gran Canaria Pro-Am.

After an impressive performance in the longboard division that saw him take the World Title for 2025, Benoit turned his attention to the Performance SUP. After moving over to El Lloret where the surf was pumping, Benoit looked relaxed and in his element, putting on a strong performance on the opening day.

Today, he took it to another level. In his semi final heat, he went from strength to strength, finding his rhythm and improving with every ride. After posting a mesmerizing 9.5, he went one further and executed an absolutely flawless wave with style, speed, power and finesse: it came in at a unanimous 10. The ride provided a text book showcase of what performance SUP surfing should look like..

Benoit continued his roll in the final, picking out the best waves on offer in the increasingly tricky conditions, posting a high 7 point ride and backing it up with a high 6 to take victory at the 2025 Gran Canaria Pro-Am. This is now his second Performance SUP World Title on the APP World Tour, along with back to back Longboard SUP Titles making him the most dominant and versatile performer on Tour.

There is no doubt that Sebastian Gomez and Benoit Carpentier were the in form surfers of the event in the men's division, athletes with very different surfing styles, but both delivering some of the most impressive performancess of the event. As such, it was a highly anticipated match up in the Finals, as we waited to see how they would fare when facing each other in battle.

While his surfing was explosive and stylish, Sebastian struggled to find the set waves that would allow him to open up, leaving him chasing an 8 point ride to take the win. Unfortunately he was unable to find the wave he needed and was forced to settle for 2nd place. However, each year he has climbed a spot on the APP World Tour. Now Vice World Champion, we are excited to see what he has to bring in 2026!

In 3rd place was Mathieu Carpentier from France who put on a stellar performance at this year's Gran Canaria Pro-Am, majorly stepping up his performances through the rounds. While in 4th, Moritz Mauch was battling food poisoning, leaving him weak and unable to put on the battle he would have wanted to. However a finals finish is already impressive.

After an intense opening day of competition, it all came down to the 4 woman final this morning at El Lloret. A new building swell on top of the remnants of the last swell providing challenging conditions and testing the 4 incredible athletes to the max.

Luchy was able to find good connections with the lip and string together another impressive performance to take victory here in 2025. Clearly comfortable in the line up at El Loret, even when it is maxing, Luchy showed her progressive approach to SUP Surfing and continues to help elevate the sport. With back to back World Champions, we are excited to see what she has to bring when we return to action with a full schedule in 2026.

It has been great to watch Vania Torres return to the APP World Tour in 2025 after several years away from competing, and it shows that she has not skipped a beat, looking sharper than ever.

While she didn't take the win here in Gran Canaria, it was close, and there is no doubt that there is an exciting rivalry developing between Argentina's Luchy Cosoleto and Vania, after a similar finish in the ISA Championships as well. It will be interesting to see how it all unfolds when the Tour resumes in 2026 with a fresh new season and series.

In 3rd and 4th respectively Kaede and Sakura Inoue continued their phenomenal form at the Gran Canaria Pro-Am, clearly demonstrating that they are major forces to be reckoned with in the sport and are always up in the title conversation even though in this case, they weren't able to win this one secure.

However, with a one title each to their names (Longboard and Junior Titles respectively), it was still not a bad showing for these incredibly talented athletes that always demonstrate class, sportsmanship and an unprecedented commitment to be there for those around them.
