Royan SUP Festival 2025 Delivers Ocean Thrills and Festival Vibes

ROYAN, France - Royan, France played host to the Royan SUP Festival 2025, part of the Week-End de la Glisse celebration, where competitors and spectators alike were treated to an unforgettable mix of high-level racing, true ocean conditions, and a vibrant festival atmosphere. Organized by Surfing Charentes and Nautisme Royan Atlantique, the event combined world-class stand-up paddle racing with concerts and cultural activities, creating one of the most dynamic weekends on the European SUP calendar.

Women’s Race: Rivet Holds Strong Against Rising Challengers

On the women’s side, Iona Rivet (NSP, France) once again confirmed her position at the top, taking the gold in what she described as the hardest race of her career so far. Rivet had to fend off an early charge from Lola Pelletier (NSP, France), who mirrored her silver medal result from Stop #6 in Belgium.

Gaëlle Paponnaud (3Bay Paddle, France) secured her best career result with a strong third-place finish, showcasing impressive skills in the ocean swells. Close behind was the experienced Edith Teulade (Sunova, France) in fourth, while Béa Basson (3Bay Paddle, France) rounded out the Top 5 with grit and determination, enduring conditions that proved too challenging for several competitors.

Men’s Race: Ethan Bry Dominates

The men’s race saw Ethan Bry (SIC Maui, France) confirm his status as the clear favorite, taking a commanding win with impeccable ocean racing skills. Donato Freens (Infinity SUP, Netherlands) kept the pressure on and finished second, adding another strong result to his standout season. In third came Ethan’s younger brother, Eliott Bry (SIC Maui, France), proving once again that the Bry family is a force in the sport. Rising talent Louka Brard (NSP, France) impressed with a fourth-place finish, followed by the always-consistent Ludovic Teulade (SIC Maui, France) in fifth.
