2016 Red Bull Heavy Water Holding Period Now Open

As an official stop in the 2016 Stand Up World Series, Red Bull Heavy Water has started the holding period as of September 1st. The holding period will guarantee 40 of the world’s best SUP athletes waves over 10ft. on an open course that stretches 12km (7.5 miles), starting at Ocean Beach and finishing just past the Golden Gate Bridge.

SUP Adventurer Paddles Solo From Maui To Lanai

Cody Kalapana Ball, 5’2” 130-pounds, recently completed a solo paddle from Launiupoko Park on Maui to Manele Harbor on the island of Lanai. The 28-mile, 13.5-hour trip was a two-day journey. He had no escort, no epirb, no marine radios. Here are Cody’s thoughts on the trip.

Top Stand Up Paddlers Team Up For 4th Annual Beyond The Shore Paddlefest

4th Annual Beyond the Shore Paddlefest presented by Kinecta Federal Credit Union will be lead this year by pro SUP athletes Danny Ching, Candice Appleby and Slater Trout to raise awareness and funds for charity partners: Surfrider Foundation South Bay, Marine Mammal Care Center at Fort MacArthur and Sea Shepherd Conservation Society.

SIC Maui’s Kenny Kaneko Wins Big In Hong Kong Against Stacked Field

SIC Global Team Athlete Kenny Kaneko scored an impressive victory at the Hong Kong International SUP Championship 2016 presented by the Hong Kong Stand Up Paddle Board Association. Kaneko tore through the 13 mile (21 kilometer) elite course with a finish time of 2:28:28, leaving Kai Lenny and Casper Steinfath over 6 minutes behind with a 2:34:48 and 2:36:26 finish respectively.

Adventurers Stand Up Paddle Board Through The Heart Of Sweden In World First

On August 4th, Australian adventure athlete, Tarran Kent-Hume crossed the finish line in Stockholm with his team of 5 Stand Up Paddle Boarders. The adventure is a 700km paddle from Gothenburg to Stockholm via the Gota Canal and Baltic Sea. As well as being a world first it’s one of the toughest SUP events out there.
