Heat Score - 74

At the start of last week we announced our fourth of July photo contest that ran until this Friday. We wanted your photos that showed us how you were going to spend the weekend celebrating Independence Day across the US and some great photos came back. After some in-house deliberation and debates, we're pleased to bring you the results

4. Anchovies Attack!

Heat Score - 79

Well... not exactly attack, but that was the general public's fear when a massive school of anchovies were spotted at Scripps in La Jolla. Not only because the fishes' arrival comes less than a week after a shark-related incident in nearby LA, but also because of the sheer volume and size of the school. Scientists at Scripps Institute of Oceanography have confirmed that it was an environmental anomaly and not a sign of the apocalypse, a shark risk or anything else that will possibly make you want to avoid going into the water.

3. Sup'ing NewPort Wedge

Heat Score - 83

We seldom see stand up paddles boarders at the Wedge, but there are a few crazies among us who try their luck from time to time. SUPreme athlete, Daniel Hughes, is part of that tribe and recently did a fine job of holding his own out there. Check out the video of him charging.

2. Celeb DOG-SUP'S

Heat Score - 84

Some riveting, cutting-edge journalism here at number 2 on this week's Weekly Recap. The star of 'Big Love', Mama Mia and Les Miserables (among others) was spotted taking her beloved pooch, Finn, for a paddle. While we might be under the impression that A-list celebrities don't do regular things to lap up the summer, what could be more normal than this?

1. SUP'ing Over Sharks

Heat Score - 99

Following news of a shark-related incident this weekend in Manhattan Beach, Los Angeles, where a swimmer was bitten by a Great Whiten, this video hit the web. Shot by photographer, Bo Bridges, it shows a surfer going right over a Great White with no drama.
