SAN DIEGO, California – Supconnect is thrilled to announce that nominations are officially open for the 16th Annual Supconnect Awards. As one of the longest-running honors in the sport, the 2025 edition continues to recognize the athletes, brands, and retailers making a lasting impact on the global stand-up paddleboarding community. This year’s categories include Man of the Year, Woman of the Year, Grom of the Year, Gear of the Year, and more.
“We’re proud to celebrate the 16th year of the Supconnect Awards,” says Andre Niemeyer, Publisher of Supconnect. “This milestone highlights our unwavering commitment to the sport and to uplifting the stories of the people and brands that drive it forward. It’s about more than just performance—it’s about passion, integrity, and a shared love for SUP.”
The Supconnect Awards are guided by input from a diverse mix of contributors—Supconnect staff, the advisory board, retail partners, brands, event organizers, and the broader public. Nominees are carefully evaluated based on performance, ambassadorship, community involvement, and overall impact on the sport.
Athlete Nomination Criteria
- Ambassadorship: Representing the positivity, inclusiveness, and aloha spirit of stand-up paddling.
- Involvement: Actively engaged in the SUP community and events.
- Performance: Demonstrating notable skill and consistency, with or without top podium finishes.
- Support: Earning votes and backing from the public to validate relevance and reach.
Brand & Shop Nomination Criteria
- Involvement: Supporting the SUP community through demos, clinics, and educational outreach.
- Support: Delivering top-tier customer service in product guidance, sales, and aftercare.
- Quality: Offering exceptional products that advance the paddling experience.
