Jessica Cichra Completes West Classic On SHUBU Raven Inflatable

CARLSBAD, California - Team Boardworks Surf paddler Jessica Cichra completed the Key West Classic last weekend on the New 12.6 Boardworks SHUBU Raven Inflatable. After a flurry of races this spring in Florida on the Boardworks Eradicator 12.6, Jessica decided to give the 12.6 Raven Inflatable a go on what has become one of the toughest races in Florida. The key west Classic put on by Lazy Dog SUP in Key west, is a complete navigation around the key west island. The race course has been known for its extreme weather and currents, giving paddlers a true test of their abilities!

Here is what Jessica had to say about the race after finishing the grueling course on the Raven Inflatable!

Choosing the Raven Inflatable for the Race……

Jessica – “I chose to race the Boardworks inflatable Raven because of its stability, versatility, and easy portability. I also wanted to demonstrate to the SUP world how great the BW inflatables perform in a variety of conditions, including distance racing!”

 

 

Performance of the Raven Inflatable during the Grueling Race…..

Jessica – “The board was very stable in the 2-3 ft choppy sections, compared to the raceboards around me that were dumping paddlers left & right. She screamed in the downwind sections, catching bumps easy, and I was keeping pace with other 12’6″ raceboards. During the side wind/ side current/ up current conditions, I was a bit slower due to my size on a wider board, but was able to save energy for a strong finish!”

 

 

The overall feel of the Race……

Jessica – “The race was very challenging with all kinds of conditions to tackle including the distance itself. I feel very accomplished to have completed the race around the island of key west. The island vibes & festivities will keep me coming back!”
