Encinitas, California – Summer paddling is underway in Colorado and the Boardworks Surf is making a splash across the state with the “Show Up & Blow Up” SUP demo tour, hosting stand up paddling demos, clinics, and competitions at three prominent river festivals in Colorado: CKS Paddlefest (Buena Vista), FIBArk (Salida), and the Gunnison River Festival.

Riding the wave of growing interest in stand-up paddleboarding (SUP), Boardworks Surf, a market leader in the standup paddleboard (SUP) industry, is in the midst of a 13-city tour featuring a fully-stocked caravan with the latest boards and fully-stoked pros ready to share this relatively young sport.

“The Colorado events will be super special because we can showcase a sport that is fairly new in the mountains and demonstrate that it is just as viable as any other whitewater sport on the river or lake,” said Boardworks pro Mike Tavares. “We’ve put together a fun surf and boardercross race series that showed how fun this sport really is.”

The Colorado leg of the tour begins this weekend, May 25 – 29, at Paddlefest in Buena Vista, a one of kind, interactive event featuring lake and river paddling, on water education, fun competitions, the BV Pro/Am Rodeo, beer gardens, live music, and movie premiers.

Then, Boardworks steers south to Salida for FIBArk ("First in Boating the Arkansas") June 14- 17. Started in 1950’s, it’s the nation's oldest whitewater festival and one of Colorado’s signature paddling events. This year FIBArk features myriad water activities and entertainment. food, arts and crafts, a beer tent, a carnival, and an extraordinary musical line-up.

The following weekend, June 22 – 23, Boardworks moves in to Gunnison, CO for the Gunnison River Festival, a high-energy weekend featuring white water demos and competitions, plus mountain biking, trail running, rock climbing, raft races, clinics, races, and a costume party concert.

After the Colorado swing, the Boardworks’ entourage heads to Montana, Idaho, Utah, North Carolina, Virginia, and Tennessee.

The tour comes on the heels of Boardworks’ release of the patent-pending Badfish MCIT (Multi Chamber Inflatable Technology), a new game-changing inflatable SUP predicted to lead the market in terms of performance and stability.
