On June 24th, paddlers came out to Western Lake in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida to take part in the second installment of a four-part series of relay-style SUP races.

SANTA ROSA BEACH, Florida – YOLO Board announces results of the June 24th YOLO Board Stand Up Paddle Series event, the second race in the four-part series. Presented by Destin Real Estate Company, the YOLO Board Stand Up Paddle Series is held at the WaterColor BoatHouse on Western Lake from May 2011 through August 2011. The beloved relay-style series is in its fourth season and features relay-style competition by four member teams in the Beginning Level and three member teams in the Next Level.
In the second event, the YOLO team composed of Ross Carter, Justin Cook and Kyle Gallagher finished first for their second win in the Next Level division followed by teams GUSU and Sunset Beach Service. The Unbalanced team of Donna Bandy, Amy Buchanan, Bernadette Leach and Gina Seton also repeated victory in the Women’s Division with teams Salon Twist and Kitty Hawk Kites in second and third place. Parker Carroum, Mike Ingram, Matt Magera and Dylan Sims of team Billabong Destin secured their first victory in the Men’s Division followed by the YOLO Juniors and Team Sandestin. Teams will compete over the course of the next two races on July 14th and Aug 11th for the champion title “2011 YOLO Board Cup Series.”
The remaining dates for the YOLO Board Stand Up Paddle Series are July 14th and August 11th (weather permitting) and races begin at 5:00pm at the WaterColor BoatHouse. For more information, contact 850.622.5760 or visit www.YOLORace.com. All events are family-friendly, free and open to the public.

After spending the first part of her life in Minnesota, Morgan traded in her snow boots for sandals and moved to sunny California.
