SULTAN, Washington - One design won’t get it done when it comes to excelling in the variety of conditions we are faced with. It’s as natural as the salt scented air we breathe to need a quiver of boards. As SUP surfers we need to start thinking, not just about our boards, but our paddle. Why would a paddle designed for race, or versatile use be expected to perform at a high level in the surf? Werner Paddles has invested in the wave rider and has been working long and hard to develop a paddle suited just for SUP surfing. Their result: The Rip Stick.

The Rip Stick paddle is the answer to what surfers want. More power from a smaller blade. Smaller blade size means a higher cadence for bursts of speed, with a low-profile that won’t trip up when executing turns. To generate more power, we developed a double concave dihedral in the power face of the blade. The power pockets created accelerate you into more waves, outrace outside sets and blast over foam piles. Along with more power the double concave shape of the blade face creates a super stable stroke, for all the crazy angles you find yourself paddling. With softer overall flex and wide range of fit options we now offer the surfer a paddle truly specific to the sport.

The Rip Stick comes in two different sizes, the Rip Stick 79 and the Rip Stick 89. The 89 is has a bigger blade surface area than the 79 and also is a bit longer and wider. To see and learn more about Werner Paddles' newest release click HERE.
