CARLSBAD, California - Known for quality, consistency, and durability, Surftech has always paired cutting-edge technologies with designs from some of the most renowned surf and paddle board shapers in the industry. For years Surftech surfboards and paddle boards have featured a number of more sustainable materials and is proud to announce the partnership with nonprofit Sustainable Surf to verify our boards as ECOBOARDS.

Surfers and paddlers around the planet can surf their favorite local spot, or paddle on their favorite body of water, be that ocean, lake, river or pond, on a board with a reduced environmental footprint. Surftech provides ECOBOARDS for all types of surfers and stand up paddler styles from beginners to pro surfers, flat water touring, yoga, SUP surf, or hardcore racing paddlers, there is an ECOBOARD for everyone.

“We’re stoked to be working with Surftech, and excited to see a growing number of their boards carry the ECOBOARD Project logo,” says Kevin Whilden, Co-founder, Sustainable Surf. “Surftech is a name that surfers and paddlers often associate with technology innovation and durability, and it's great to see the emphasis they are now placing on innovative ways to use renewable materials, reduce waste and improved energy use. Sustainable Surf conducts an annual audit of Surftech’s factory to verify these sustainability commitments and has given Surftech the stamp of approval."

  • The eco-innovations you will see on Surftech’s surf and paddleboard range include:
  • Sicomin GreenPoxy bio resin, with more than 25% plant-based content;
  • Purpose-molded EPS cores, reducing foam waste; and
  • BLOOM DeckPads, made with algae from freshwater sources at high risk of algal blooms.

“Surftech is very conscious about making products with ‘environmentally-friendly’ materials whenever possible. We are proud to partner with Sustainable Surf and join the ECOBOARD Project,” says Dan Watts, Surftech’s Product Director. “Our waterways are our playgrounds, so we will do everything we can to make a positive impact on our oceans, rivers and lakes.”
