Suplove Announces Signing of first East Coast USA Team Racer Chris Stephan

HUNTINGTON BEACH, California – Suplove are proud to announce the signing of competitive Stand Up Paddle Board racer Chris Stephan of Deerfield Beach, Florida to the Suplove Race Team. Stephan, a surfer for most of his life, started stand up paddling in the Summer of 2007 as he says "strictly to catch more waves due to predominantly flat conditions here in South Florida". What quickly developed was a passion for the sport "catching more waves was awesome but then I found flat water and realized this was a great way to exercise and really feel the way a board works". Flat water paddling lead Stephan to his first race. "I got a great start and was in third place around corner number one and then I fell!" says Stephan laughing. "The start was so much fun I had to do another race and well, one race lead to another!" Josh Vajda from Precision Paddleboards signed Chris to the Precision Paddleboards Race Team earlier this year along with East Coast female powerhouse Mary Anne Boyer Willis  "Both Chris and Mary Anne bring not only racing expertise to our team, but passion and enthusiasm for educating and growing the SUP community."

It was through Precision's store, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, that Chris came into contact with the Suplove Stingray. "Truthfully, I wasn't sure about the Stingray and then I paddled it! I could see after the first time riding it, this board was unreal! I even timed it against a few boards to make sure I wasn't dreaming. The Stingray gotten me in the top three in the last three races!  Now I don't have to think about board design because I know I'm on the fastest." (Join the Racing group on Supconnect)

It is Stephan's reputation as much as his race skills that brought him to the attention of Suplove co-founder Matt Johnston "It's pretty hard to ignore when you have racers from other teams recommending a guy. Chris is the full package, passionate, friendly, down to earth and fast. He represents everything we here at Suplove believe in and is a great start to our East Coast representation" Stephan joins exisiting Suplove Team riders, Kristin Thomas an Ozzie Clarke who have been having amazing results in California on the 12'6" Stingray.
