HUNTINGTON BEACH, California - Talk about going the extra mile, one superstar may have gone 3 or more extra miles to become the winner of the Suplove "Journey into SUP" contestand will be receiving a brand new Suplove standup paddleboard and paddle!

On Wednesday April 25th, 2012 Suplove SUP announced that they would be conducting a contest to search for one deserving individual to win a new stand up paddle board and paddle, but who would also agree to be documented for 6 months in a weekly public blog provided by him or her about their new journey into SUP.  Contestants were asked to provide a picture and in 300 characters or less tell why winning the SUP board would change their life.  The results were staggering as people from all over the globe jumped on the opportunity and to whom Suplove wants to thank for participating.  However, there was one woman in particular who stood out among the rest.

Christina Coral Heesacker who resides in Forrest Grove, Oregon and is better known as Coral, quickly made her passion known when she wrote the following on facebook, "...because 300 characters really isn't enough.(,) the moment I found out about the board contest I thought maybe I would be able to make a difference...".  She went on to say, "I learned to SUP just over a year ago while at an A4C (Athletes 4 Cancer) camp. I vowed then and there, as soon as I got a full time job I would get a board...but there is one simple fact...if I were to get this board I would be able to donate what I have saved for my suplove board. It's enough to sponsor a camper's flight to...send another young adult cancer warrior to Maui so they have the chance to learn to (SUP) and live again."

Coral is referring to being able to assist someone else in having the opportunity that she did to attend an Athletes 4 Cancer camp, which for those who are not aware is a non-profit organization that runs "adventure-therapy retreats".  They take cancer fighters and cancer survivors to the snow or ocean and, "empowering them to find healing and achievement through surfing, standup paddling, outrigger canoeing, snowboarding, and other outdoor adventures." Their goal is to transform cancer survivor outlook by, "renewing, rebuilding, and restarting lives after cancer."  For more information see:  http://www.athletes4cancer.org/

With such a generous and giving offer on the table along with her obvious passion to support people who are rebuilding their lives after cancer, Coral Heesacker was not an easy contestant to overlook.  Yet according to the Suplove judges assigned to the contest, she also stood out because, 1.) she had a high number of votes from the public in an open voting format on the Suplove Facebook Page, 2.)  will truly be starting a new journey into SUP on her first personal SUP board, 3.) demonstrated great writing skills in her communication which will be nice for the upcoming blog, and 4.) without question proved herself to be a highly motivated individual.  Thus, for all of these reasons and more, Christina Coral Heesacker is the winner!

To follow Coral on her Journey into SUP over the next 6 months and see what becomes of her donated money to help an individual get to an Athletes 4 Cancer camp, check in to the Suplove SUP website and follow the blog, or watch for updates on the Supove Facebook page and their twitter account @suplovesup. There will no doubt be exciting stories to come!
