SUP Community Rallies To Support Breast Cancer Research

Standup For The Cure 2022 Paddlers raise support for those affected by breast cancer. Standup For The Cure 2022

ENCINITAS, California - Standup For The Cure (SUFTC) is excited to announce that over $85,000 has been raised so far this year through their annual Standup Newport Beach and Standup Muskegon events to support those affected by breast cancer.

100% of SUFTC’s proceeds directly benefit their local beneficiaries: Susan G. Komen, Hackley Community Care, and Van Andel Institute. Participants and fundraisers that contribute to SUFTC directly raise funds to provide breast cancer screenings, patient support services, education, treatment, and research for uninsured and under-insured women.

With October being Breast Cancer Awareness Month, SUFTC is encouraging the community to continue to raise awareness and funds to help put an end to breast cancer through their National Micro-Events fundraising campaign.

SUFTC’s National Micro-Events allow participants from anywhere to host their own micro-event by paddling (canoe, kayak, paddleboard), practicing yoga, swimming, hiking, running, biking, CrossFit, Pilates, and more. All registrants receive an official Standup for the Cure jersey, access to fundraising capabilities, and more. Registration for SUFTC’s National Micro-Events is available now through October 31, 2022.

Individual donations to support SUFTC’s mission to build a supportive community, promote an active healthy lifestyle, raise funding for breast cancer screening treatment, and research can also be made by visiting SUFTC’s National Micro-Events donation page.

“Breast cancer affects thousands of women, their friends, and their family each day,” said Dan Van Dyck, Executive Director of Standup for the Cure. “It’s important that we come together and support those in our community by doing what we can to help put an end to breast cancer.”

According to Susan G. Komen, it is estimated that there will be 287,850 new cases of invasive breast cancer found in women in the United States this year. With this in mind, SUFTC continues to raise funds and awareness to fight breast cancer through events and programs that celebrate a healthy lifestyle.
