HUNTINGTON BEACH, California – The Huntington Beach Pro will be the Stand Up World Tour's first visit to the US mainland, arriving right at the heart of Surf City USA, Huntington Beach. As stop number 4 on the 2011 Stand Up World Tour, it will be a vital and pivotal stop on this year's Tour.

Athletes will be looking to solidify their position in the rankings and make their run for the top. Kai Lenny will be looking to consolidate on his lead - another win here at Huntington would be the perfect next step for him.

But Lenny will be challenged by Sapinus Pro winner Peyo Lizarazu, who is now hot on his heels, not to mention France's Antoine Delpero, who is known to excel in beach breaks like Huntington. Likewise, Leco Salazar will be looking to make up for his disappointing finish in Tahiti and in the lead up to the home leg for him in Brazil, his chance to scrape back up to the top, and here in Huntington, where his style of surfing is so well suited.

The Hawaiians will also be looking to assert their authority in the form of Robin Johnston, Zane Schweitzer and Aaron Napoleon: all currently in the Top 10, they will be looking to improve on their position and make their presence felt. The talent pool is immense and the action will be intense as the very best stand up paddlers in the world descend on Southern California for a show like no other.

Huntington Beach has long been an epicenter for the world of surfing, not least because of the US Open that takes place there each year, but also because it represents the nucleus of the surfing industry, with the majority of the major global surf brands being headquartered there.

To hold a Stand Up World Tour event south of the Pier is both an honor and a great opportunity; a chance to showcase where the sport has come to in one of its biggest markets and a chance for the budding local talent to come and match up against the very best in the world.

Watch out for one of the leading US athletes on Tour, Sean Poynter, as he looks to make a statement at home. Also, Colin McPhilips, multiple time longboard World Champion, is now looking to capitalize on his great result in France last year and face up to the best of the best.
