SIC is Best Performing Brand at Carolina CUP!

The Mens Podium at the Carolina Cup sees SIC team rider Georges Cronsteadt on the 2nd tier.

 

WRIGHTSVILLE BEACH, North Carolina - This past weekend, SIC (Sandwich Islands Composites) scored 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place in the Elite races of the Carolina Cup. SIC was the only brand with two top three results in both the male and female fields making it the top performing brand of the event!

For the mens, SIC team rider Georges Cronsteadt was a close 2nd place finish with less than a minute separating him and event winner Danny Ching. “I want to say thank you to my sponsors SIC, Hinano Life, Air Tahiti Nui, and Mitsubishi for their support. I felt good on my X14 PRO in all the conditions throughout the course” said Georges. “Next up is Olukai stop 2 on the Champions Tour and I am looking forward to that race!”

 

The Women’s Podium show SIC team riders Lina Augaitis and Sonni Honschied on the 3rd and 4th tiers.

For the womens, SIC team rider Lina Augaitis came in third, only seconds separating her from the first place finisher Annabel Anderson, and with SIC teammate Sonni Honschied right behind her in 4th place. “I am glad I was able to be a part of the Carolina Cup event this past weekend. The positive stoke around SUP, the outdoors, fitness and community was surreal” said Lina. “My board felt perfect under my feet helping me move fast and furious through the flats and stay agile and on top on the rougher ocean sections. I worked hard to catch up from behind in the flat water using every inch of my power and glide from my board and body. I am pleased with my result of coming in within seconds of first and second places and can’t wait until next year!”

“This was my first time at the Carolina Cup and I really enjoyed this event” said Sonni. “The race was so tough with very difficult conditions so I was glad to be on my SIC X 12 PRO and using the new SIC Battle paddle. It worked amazing!”

The Carolina Cup is an AWESOME event that is filled with fun and excitement. At SIC we couldn’t be happier for the success of our athletes and we look forward to coming back to the Carolina Cup for many years to come!
