4th Annual Aloha Marin Stand Up Paddleboard Race

SAN RAFAEL, California - The Fourth Annual Aloha Marin Stand-Up Paddleboard Race will take place September 8, 2012.  Already a classic in Marin County’s Stand-Up Paddleboard scene, this popular SUP event returns to be bigger and better than ever. Participants must navigate a challenging 4 mile course, which begins and ends on the quarter mile long sandy beach at McNears, and involves going around the islands off of Pt. San Pedro and China Camp State Beach. A 3 mile McNears to China Camp course will be substituted in the event of inclement weather.

 

Applicants of all ages and skill-levels are invited to participate. Registration beginsat 8:00 am the morning of the race, which will begin at 9:00 am. All participants must meet at the McNears Beach Snack Bar (201 Cantera Way, San Rafael) for registration. There is a $10 parking fee. Prize packages for the winners are courtesy of local merchants including Demo Sport in San Rafael.

 

This is an event NOT to be missed! Come and enjoy one of the Bay Area’s most beautiful locations while experiencing the thrill of competition. Never heard of Stand Up Paddleboarding before? This event is the perfect opportunity to learn more about the up and coming sport. Already an SUP enthusiast? Come and share your passion with other fans.

 

This is a family friendly spectator event. All spectators are encouraged to give this wonderful, emerging sport a try. If you are inspired, there will be paddleboards available to rent courtesy of Demo Sport.
