NORDHAUSEN SUP RACE SEES INTENSE BATTLES
NORDHAUSEN, Germany - Spectators were greeted to an epic day of racing in Nordhausen for the third edition of the Südharzer SUP Cup. The weather was a bit overcast but the amazing clear water of the lake Sundhäuser made for some intense battles.
Men's Race
The battle for the men's Euro Tour 2023 rankings was at an all time high during the event with France's Noic Garioud who is currently leading the rankings wanting to desperately secure his third win in front of his teammate and 3x Euro Tour champion, Michael Booth. The duo worked together all race with a frantic sprint to the line. Garioud was successful in securing the win over booth in an exciting finish.
On yet another great performance the Donato Freens, a standout Junior hailing from the Netherlands came in 3rd place and took the super lap first along with fellow teammate from Germany, Normen Weber who placed 4th and almost upset the entire field coming 24 seconds off the overall win. Closing out the Top 5 was Brazilian Eri Tenorio that out-sprinted the duo of Aussie Ollie Houghton in 6th & German Ole Schwarz in 7th.

Women's Race
In the women's race, Spain's Esperanza Barreras took her 6th victory of the season and pretty much closed the books on securing the title for the 2023 Euto Tour with another impeccable performance.
In 2nd, Italy's Cecilia Pampinella took the super lap first along with Switzerland's Anna Tschirky in 3rd. The top three ladies finished 3 minutes ahead of their competition. Perhaps with the performance of the event, 15 year old Italian paddler Claudia Postillone finished in 4th securing her a bright future. Closing out the Top 5 was Germany's Tanja Ecker that barely out-sprinted Petronella Van Malsen who finished in 6th. Also, a special mention to 7th place finished Susanne Lier who had a great race in addition to organizing the entire event!
