Euro Tour Stop #2: Highlights from Sancti Petri

SANCTI PETRI, Spain – The second stop of the Euro Tour 2025 delivered an unforgettable weekend of stand-up paddle action at the Sancti Petri SUP Race. Hosted under sunny skies with technical surf and wind conditions, the event took place at the stunning Atenas Playa in La Barrosa, known for its flawless setup and scenic backdrop.

Women's Race Recap

Puerto Rico’s Mari Carmen Rivera once again demonstrated her dominance by securing first place with a commanding start-to-finish lead. Spain’s Duna Gordillo, one of the world’s top-ranked paddlers, delivered a strong performance to claim second place. Making an impressive Euro Tour debut, the UK’s Annabel Page rounded out the podium in third. Canadian newcomer Maddi Leblanc finished fourth, with New Zealand’s Brianna Orams closing the Top 5 with consistent pace throughout the race.

Men’s Race Recap

Japan’s Shuri Araki cemented his reputation as one of the best paddlers in the world. After a slow start, he surged ahead during the downwind leg, using the ocean conditions to full advantage and finishing in first place. Spain’s Fernando Perez delivered his best performance on tour so far, taking second. Dutch paddler Donato Freens led early in the race and held on for third. France’s Arthur Arutkin excelled in the windy conditions to take fourth, while the UK’s Blue Ewer completed the Top 5 with a steady race.

Junior Race & Community Involvement

The junior races held in the afternoon were a highlight of the event, with tight competition and plenty of smiles from the youngest athletes on tour.
