Eliott Bry and Mariecarmen Rivera Claim Victory at Weekend de la Glisse 2026

ROYAN, France – The 2026 EuroTour SUP season delivered another memorable stop in Royan, France, as the Weekend de la Glisse 5-Star event brought elite stand-up paddle racers together for a spectacular day of beach racing, waves and high-level competition.
Hosted as part of the wider Weekend de la Glisse festival, the event combined SUP racing with multiple watersports and live entertainment, creating a packed weekend along the French Atlantic coast. Ideal weather and quality surf provided the backdrop for a technical beach race that challenged athletes to combine speed, board handling, wave reading and race strategy.
Rivera Dominates the Women's Field
Two-time EuroTour champion Mariecarmen Rivera of Puerto Rico delivered the standout performance in the women's competition, taking the victory with an impressive display of speed and control.
Rivera separated herself from the field and produced an especially strong second run, finishing among the top five overall when compared with the men's performances—another indication of the pace she brought to the course.
Behind Rivera, young French talent Lola Peltier continued to establish herself as one of the country's promising racers, securing second place. Gaëlle Paponnaud of France matched her result from the previous year with another podium performance, finishing third after a strong second run.

Bry Takes a Dramatic Men's Victory
The men's race produced one of the day's closest battles.
Eliott Bry of France put his wave-reading skills to work throughout the race and ultimately secured the top spot. A fall near the finish opened the door for his challengers, however, turning the closing moments into a sprint for the victory. Bry held on to take the win by just one second.
Greg Limelette nearly turned the race around with a spectacular charge to the finish, ultimately taking second in what the EuroTour described as his best performance to date.
Young French racer Louka Brard completed the podium in third, adding another strong result for the emerging generation of French SUP racers. Spain's Benat Villagarcia impressed with a fourth-place finish, while the consistently competitive Ludovic Teulade rounded out the top five.

Another Memorable Weekend in Royan
Beyond the racing, Weekend de la Glisse once again demonstrated why the event has become a distinctive stop on the EuroTour calendar. The festival brought together multiple sports, competition and live concerts while maintaining the relaxed atmosphere that has become a hallmark of the Royan event.
EuroTour organizers thanked Xavier, Damien and the entire Weekend de la Glisse team for their hospitality and organization, highlighting the challenge of successfully bringing numerous sports and major live performances together within a single weekend.
With the racing in Royan complete, attention now turns to the final EuroTour 2026 rankings, which are expected to be released following another full season of international SUP competition.
The EuroTour team also thanked the athletes, organizers and industry partners who contributed throughout the year, while confirming that preparations are already underway for EuroTour 2027.
