In recent years, Stand Up Paddleboarding (SUP) has emerged as the UK’s most popular watersport. Both low-impact and beginner friendly it’s a sport suited to everyone, plus with its credentials as the ultimate core workout for fitness, and a growing celebrity following it’s no wonder that everyone is getting on board.
Established in 2012 by professional SUP trainer Lucy Mccormick, SUPfit is the UK’s leading SUP Fitness & Yoga specialist. By combining carefully planned exercises and yoga poses on stand up paddle boards, SUPfit provides its clients with the best of both worlds - a workout for the body and the mind.
From fast paced, high intensity SUP HIIT to gentle flowing SUP Yoga, there is an on-water class to suit everyone. The intensity of each exercise is amplified due to the board instability, meaning client’s enjoy a low impact workout whilst surrounded by nature; taking in the fresh air and getting their daily dose of vitamin D.
“Since launching SUPfit we’ve seen a shift in interest, moving away from pure fitness to something that also focusses on the mind, nature and a feeling of complete wellness” said Mccormick. “We saw an amazing response to our previous retreats so we’re really excited to launch this fresh wellbeing programme for 2017.”
For 2017 SUPfit is collaborating with experienced instructors (Stand Up Paddle boarding, SUP Yoga, SUP Pilates and Nutrition) to launch a programme of water based wellbeing retreats.
