Paddle Second Chance Just Around The Corner!

MILVILLE, Delaware - Boardworks is proud to be a sponsor of the second annual Paddle Second Chance, a festival of fun racing and fund raising for a worthy cause Operation Second Chance (OSC). OSC is a non-profit 501c organization committed to serving our wounded combat veterans and their families’ recovery and transition back to active duty or into civilian life. They truly do amazing work and have impacted countless wounded heroes’ lives.

 

At last year’s event, 114 paddlers attended and over $30,000 was raised. We are expecting this year to be bigger and better! The event will kick off on Friday June 27th with Happy Hour at The Starboard in Dewey Beach. There will be paddler registration and packet pickup followed by happy hour and raffle give-aways.   Boardworks has donated a Raven Stand Up Paddle Board and adjustable paddle retailing at over $1300 to be raffled off , so don’t miss your chance to win!  A  Specialized Altrus High End Road Bicycle retail value $2,400 is also up for grabs for our land lovers, not to mention random drawings and great SWAG for all participants.

 

 

Race day will be Saturday June 28th at Holts Landing State Park Millville, Delaware featuring a 5 mile Mid-Atlantic SUP Race Association (MASRA) sanctioned race. Up to $400 in cash prizes will be awarded to the men’s and women’s top finishers. There will also 2.5 mile fun race and a kids race. The race venue will be open at 8:30 AM for check in, packet pick up, numbering and same day registration. Race start time is 11:00 AM. The day will wrap up with an awards ceremony and community picnic for all those in attendance.

Provided for GPS tracking units, iPads, housing modifications and repairs
Arranged for dinners, day-care (care-giver) day trips for service men, women and their providers.
