Oslo SUP Challenge 2011

Who says you need warm water to SUP? Norwegians head out to the Oslo-Fjord to compete in the first annual Oslo SUP Challenge, part of the larger 3-day Oslo Water Games.

OSLO, Norway – On June 25th , Norwegians participated in the Oslo SUP Challenge, hosted by SUP.no, as part of the first annual Oslo Water Games. Participants of all ages brought their boards to the water to compete in several different events and were met by fantastic weather and strong local support.

The Oslo SUP Challenge included a 200m Children's SUP Race, a 1.6 Km short distance sprint, a 5 Km race of 3 laps and a 15Km distance race with kayakers.

The Oslo Water Games is an annual sports festival in Bjørvika with a focus on celebration, enjoyment, environment and social responsibility. Training and competitions are organized at all levels of rowing, canoeing, sailing, swimming, wake boarding and stand-up paddling. The Oslo Water Games cooperates with the Norwegian Opera and Ballet, the relevant sports federations, local sports teams, as well as landowners and developers in Oslo to put on this great event.

After spending the first part of her life in Minnesota, Morgan traded in her snow boots for sandals and moved to sunny California. After graduating with a degree in Communication from The University of Southern California, she eventually made her way down south to San Diego and is taking advantage of the living by the best beaches and burritos California has to offer.
