KERNVILLE, California - The 2013 Kern River Festival will be held on April 20th - 21st and has added events to offer stand up paddlers.

This year there is an updated Triathlon that Stand Up Paddlers can enjoy. The new triathlon includes an 8 mile ride , a 2 mile run, and then a 2 mile paddle.  Participants can enter to do the entire event alone or form a 3 person team with one person doing each leg of the race.

Another event for SUP is the Stand Up Boarder-Cross event which will be held with the slalom race on Sunday.  Stand Up boards will be available for demo and use in the race by CorranSup and ULI.

A special SUP event will also be held with demo runs and a Boarder-Cross race just before the Hooligan parade on Saturday.  The parade is really exciting and consists of self-made boats that will travel downriver and attempt to make it to the end of the Park.

There is free camping for those who are registered as boaters and anyone registered for a festival event (except the Hooligan Parade) will receive one free night of camping at Camp Kernville.  Others may get a camping space for $5.00 per night while available.

Come join the fun on the water, meet all the sponsors, participate in a silent auction, enjoy a BBQ dinner, watch videos and listen to a live band.  It's all waiting for you!
