Events of the Month: September 2022

Attending a standup paddle boarding event is one of the best ways to enjoy the sport. Zaivdovo SUP Challenge

The Zaivdovo SUP Challenge is one of the largest and most popular SUP races in Russia, taking place just outside of Moscow.

SUP Surf Coaching Boat Trip in the Maldives

Join Australian SUP Champion and expert paddle coach, Beau Nixon on a fully guided SUP coaching experience aboard the brand new luxury Maldives charter boat, Sea Pleasure. This coaching experience is ideal for intermediate to advanced SUP surfers looking to enhance their SUP surfing ability in paradise. The Maldives is the perfect location to improve as the waves break slow over the deep coral reefs and allow surfers to practice their technique over and over again in mechanical-like waves.

OluKai Lowcountry Boil Paddle Battle

This race will be held on Skull Creek, which separates Hilton Head Island from Pinckney Island (a national wildlife refuge) and the mainland. The Lowcountry Boil Paddle Race proceeds will benefit The Outside Foundation. The Outside Foundation has a mission to get every child in Beaufort County in a kayak during their middle school years. The Outside Foundation also is involved with regular trash clean-up efforts and a unique oyster recycling program.

Portsmouth Paddle Battle

Join us on September 10, 2022 for the 2nd Annual Portsmouth Paddle Battle on the Elizabeth River. Participants will compete in SUP and kayak categories depending on age/experience level. If Racer and Spectator comments from 2021 are any guide, this year's Portsmouth Paddle Battle will be an awesome day out on the water and on land. Enjoy live music and good food and drinks. And prizes! We will also have special events for children. In short, there will be something for everyone. Proceeds will help the Friends support the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard Museum and the Lightship Portsmouth Museum.

APP Tour London SUP Open

The London SUP Open kicks off on Wednesday 14th September with the Nautical Mile, which will see corporate teams compete in a relay race for a chance to win the Nautical Mile Cup. The professional racing will kick off on the afternoon of Saturday 17th. There will also be open racing and team racing if visitors want a piece of the competitive action. Sunday will see the pros partake in the iconic voyage down the River Thames in a 15km distance race. Then, all paddle enthusiasts are invited to take to the water for the Paddle for the Oceans challenge, with 50% of all proceeds going to ocean-related charities.

Supetar Grand Slam SUP Race

This month, Supetar will host an international EUROTOUR SUP race for the first time. Europe's best paddlers will compete in Supetar, Croatia for a cash prize. The SUP race will take place on the September 17th on Acapulco beach and the whole weekend will be dedicated to promoting water sports.

Paddle the Rockies SUP Race Series - Bragging Rights

Compete with yourself and the best paddlers in Colorado in our Paddle the Rockies races. Join us for a 2mi fun and 4mi elite race. These races are perfect events to meet other paddling enthusiasts and push your skills to the next level.

Busan SUP Open

Welcome to our inaugural race of K-APP, hosted in the beautiful Gwangalli Beach in Busan, Korea. Gwangalli Beach provides the perfect backdrop and arena for not only APP World Tour competition, but also a safe and controlled environment for mass participation at every level as part of our Busan City Paddle Festival. The Busan SUP Open will be rooted in our World Championship competition, which will see our professional athletes compete in both sprint and distance races in the Bay of Gwangalli Beach, which will also include amateur and youth sprints for all age groups and abilities.

Red River Paddle Challenge

The Red River Paddle Challenge is a 44 kilometer (~27 miles) long distance paddling race on the Red River beginning in Winnipeg, Manitoba and ending down river in Lockport, Manitoba. We welcome all types of paddling craft, including kayaks, canoes, surfskis, outrigger canoes, stand up paddle boards, voyageur canoe, or other craft.

SUP Finger Lakes 5K

The race starts and finishes at the beach at Finger Lakes State Park. This is a flatwater course with some buoys. The top male and female winners in both the inflatable and rigid boards division will receive a $300 gift certificate to a local adventure supply store. Details coming soon!

The Paddle Sport Show

The Paddle Sports Show in Lyon, France draws buyers from specialty stores, purchasing centers, rental stations and outfitters across Europe and around the world. The show features 150+ booths of apparels, boats, boards and accessories  and a complete line-up of special events, including talks & summits, the Paddle Sports Product of the Year Awards, film festivals, races, and on water-demos. Expected buyer and exhibitor turnout exceeds 2500 attendees including retailers, exhibitors and media per show. Paddle Sports Show is a TRADE ONLY EVENT and is not open to the public.
