MIAMI, Florida - Yesterday the Orange Bowl Paddle Championship took place on the US East Coast in Miami, Florida and the winners were no strangers to the SUP scene!

In the elite race, which began at 9 AM, Danny Ching from Redondo Beach, California led the men and took first place while Ryan Helm of Sayulita, Mexico and Brennan Rose from Lahaina, Hawaii took second and third respectively.

For the women, Candice Appleby of San Clemente, California stepped up to the challenge once again and claimed a win.  She was followed by olympic gold medalist (in London Olympcis's Kayak Four {K4} 500m team event) Kriszta Zur, who currently resides in Costa Mesa, California.  Third place was swept up by the young and talented Bailey Rosen of Saint Petersburg, Florida.

There were a couple other events including the Recreational Race at 11:00 AM and the Sprint Race at 1:00 PM.  The official results of these and the elite race will be available soon from the Orange Bowl Paddle Championship Team.
