BRITTANY, France - The fourth edition of the Morbihan Paddle Trophy Ouest-France will be held on July 1st and 2nd in the breathtaking Golfe du Morbihan, Southern Brittany, France. The area is well-known for its currents and eddies which makes races technical and challenging. This event is however open to all, from beginners to skilled competitors: everybody will find a challenge to suit his/her needs.
Races will be held on Saturday and Sunday mornings, following the tide. Four long distance races will take place:
- Elites / French Cup: 14 km (Saturday) + 25 km (Sunday)
- Elites: 25 km (Sunday)
- Raiders: 14 km (Sunday)
- Under 15: 7 km (Sunday)
Everybody (except the Elite racing for the French cup) will be able to take part in the Great Walk on Water on Saturday, for a 5 km ride at a leisurely pace. On Saturday afternoon, runs and sprints will be organized in the small historical harbour in Saint-Goustan, Auray. The public will have the opportunity to see demonstrations by previous winners, to try Stand-Up paddling and take part in various games and draws throughout the week-end.
On Sunday, the first five competitors in each categories will receive great prizes from our partners: 5,000 euros in prize money (for the long distance race 14’ max and the Oxbow Sup Challenge 12’6 + runs and sprints). Great gifts for a total amount of 12,000 euros will be shared among the winners of all the categories and a few lucky and deserving competitors will be awarded prizes thanks to a draw.
