SUPtheWorld has officially added medieval castles, lakes, gastronomy, history and a UNESCO World Heritage site to its tours . . . all thanks to their new destination, Portugal.

There are several Stand up Paddle events that are taking place this weekend, but one in particular is not the typical SUP scene. In fact it's a week long retreat in an extremely stunning but curious place.

Portugal looks out from the Iberian Peninsula onto the Atlantic Ocean, with a long history of Moorish and Oriental influences that have had a lasting impact on the culture and architecture which are still prominent to this day.
