Paddle Board Highlights
Who is it for?
If you’re looking for an affordable yet stylish inflatable paddle board that is ideal for all-around paddling, check out the Super Nova from Aztron. This standup paddle board is lightweight and stable so beginner paddlers should be able to handle and paddle the board without issue. This board comes with a complete package and everything you need to get started and on the water. The package includes: a leash, a four piece paddle, a dual action pump, a highlighter yellow square backpack, as well as a bungee to go on the nose. This paddle board is best suited for short range paddling and in calm, flatwater conditions. Priced at 399 Euro / 486 USD, the Super Nova sits in the low price point tier and is among the most affordable ones you can find.
The colors of the Super Nova really make the board stand out at first glance. It features a beautiful teal blue with a highlighter yellow and accents of gray, with a white deckpad and a matching yellow carry bag that the board comes with. The color coordination here is great. What’s somewhat rare for a board at this price point is the utilization of the double chamber technology, which adds a great safety element to the package. We typically only see this feature in higher-end inflatables so this is definitely something to take note of. The Super Nova is nice and lightweight making it really easy to carry down to the water. Once on the water, the board had an average stability, but had a very nice glide when going through the water. The board also had good maneuverability and turns were very easy. The paddle was nice in that it was lightweight, but it being a four-piece paddle, you could tell that it wasn’t as sturdy compared to a two-piece paddle. Overall, the Aztron Super Nova would be a great budget-friendly starter board for any family or individual.
Primary UseAll Around
Paddle Boards fall into two broad categories, All-Around and Specialty boards, with all-around designed primarily for recreation while speciality boards for top performance in specific disciplines
Durability is largely a result of the board construction and shape, with more durable boards typically carrying more materials (added layers, PVC, etc) and as such adding to the weight.
Stability is a product of construction and shape, where boards w/ 30”+ wide and 200+ liters in volume offer plenty of stability for your AVG adult while a board under 26” wide is a challenge.
Glide is a result of board shape and construction, w/ boards weighing under 30lbs and designed for racing offering best glide while recreational boards normally being on the slow side.
Dimensions11' x 32" x 6"
Industry standard in board dimensions reads: L (length, from nose to tail) x W (width, from rail to rail at midpoint length), and H (height, from top to bottom of board at midpoint length).
Standup paddle boards tend to fall into 4 different weight classes: extremely lightweight (under 20 lbs), lightweight (20-28 lbs), average weight (28-35 lbs), heavy (above 35 lbs).
Volume is a key metric to determine how much weight a board can carry. Boards w/ 200+ liters offer most floatation with boards under 150 liters typically for high-performance surf.
Capacity140kg / 308 lbs
Capacity is the max cargo weight a stand up paddle board can carry, considering not only the paddler’s weight but whatever else the paddler may choose to carry alongside him/her.

Add-on’s include bungee cords, a minimalist way to haul things; connexsup, which allows for all sorts of attachments, even fishing rods; and FCS II/Connect, for easy fin instal.
