Slater Trout is far from your average teenager. Florida born and raised and where he learned how to surf on the Gulf, Slater’s family moved to Maui when he was 10 where his eyes were first opened to the sport of SUP by his father Casey.

On Friday (November 20th) at 6pm, stand up paddle (sup) enthusiasts will be gathering at Legends Surf Shop in Carlsbad, CA to view the first installment of Stand Up Paddle TV, which is scheduled to air every third week of the month on iTV San Diego.

Of the many newfound benefits of stand up paddling, staying fairly dry and warm is undoubtedly one of them, especially if you’re in the northeast of the US in a place like Maine.

Rusty Preisendorfer and Boardworks Paddle Division are holding a Stand Up Paddle Demo Day on February 03, 2010, from 8am-10am at La Jolla Shores in San Diego. There will be several different Rusty Sup Boards to try.

The staff from Patagonia Cardiff will be meeting at Bonita Cove in Mission Bay to demo some paddleboards, meet world-class shapers Joe Bark and Brian Syzmanski (NCP), and learn about this fun and growing sport.

On Saturday (December 5th, 2009), K5 Oceanside is opening its doors as an exclusive stand up paddle (sup) shop, offering a barrage of models, accessories, and apparels, including everything from boards and paddles to hats and t-shirts.
