Junior Pro & Youth SUP Fiesta Just 2 Days Away!

 

HUNTINGTON BEACH, California - Anticipation is building for the Inaugural Junior Pro & Youth SUP Fiesta presented by Ocean Minded. ·Many of the Junior Pro’s are arriving to Southern California and have been spotted at Bolsa Chica Beach practicing on location.·

 

With the Junior Pro only 2 days away, the local community is beginning to buzz with excitement and while some Junior Pro’s have already competed in dozens of competitions, others are preparing for their first ever sup surf competition, which is one aspect of the competition.  

 

"The reason that Candice and I chose Bolsa Chica State Beach, in Huntington Beach, was because of the forgiving way in which the wave brakes. ·During this time of the year the bottom slopes nicely making it a great wave for beginners, and a high performance wave at the same time,” says event organizer Anthony Vela. ·For 80% of the kids, it will be their first sup surf contest ever·which will definitely provide both highlights and memories.

 

For many of the groms (kids) this weekend will also create impressionable moments based on who they will meet.  The Junior Pro will have such an incredible list of volunteers and sponsors who will surprise the young riders with their presence.  Noa Hopper (13) for example, is one of the youngest Junior Pro Invites. He will be riding a custum Mike Mauri 7’0”, and racing a 12’6” Ron House.  He doesn’t know it yet, but both Ron and Mike are two of the volunteers assembled for this groundbreaking event and Noa will have a chance to meet the men who made his gear of choice possible.  Many other sup personalities will also be around sharing the stoke and passing the wisdom.
