Recently some paddlers feared that SUP could become banned from Dillon Reservoir regarding a wet suit requirement controversy.  However, after a meeting this past Tuesday with the Dillon Reservoir Recreation Committee (DRReC) everything is looking very positive for the committee and stand up paddlers alike. Stand up Paddle seems tailor made for a town like Dillon, Colorado.  All you have to do is look at the photos on their town website to know that you have found somewhere special to SUP.  However, can the town leadership of Dillon and the growing stand up paddle community come together to find a solution to all of their needs?

Boardworks Surf's Weber River SUP Race 2012 is just a few weeks away and it will be packed with action, setting up the stage for the Outdoor Retailer Show in Salt Lake City, the outdoor's industry largest gathering. 

Nick Troutman, a former World Freestyle Champion, and Dane Jackson, a freestyle kayak wunderkind, continue to showcase how stand up paddle boarding offers incredible cross-training benefits even for world-class athletes in other sports. 

The Colorado SUP season is upon us starting this weekend in Buena Vista with PaddleFest. CKS is hosting a weekend celebration to promote the beginning of the summer paddling season May 25-27th. 

Summer paddling is underway in Colorado and the Boardworks Surf is making a splash across the state with the “Show Up & Blow Up” SUP demo tour, hosting stand up paddling demos, clinics, and competitions at three prominent river festivals in Colorado: CKS Paddlefest (Buena Vista), FIBArk (Salida), and the Gunnison River Festival.

If you are in Asheville, North Carolina this week consider a trip out to Nantahala Outdoor Center for the Freestyle Shoot Out and Demo Days on April 20th to the 22nd .

Now that winter is long gone in the southeast, the Boardworks whitewater Tour is under way. The first competition/festival along the way is always fun because you get to shake off all of the winter blues and get back into the swing of things and this year started with a bang. With the introduction of the Boardworks Tour this year, there was a ton of excitement in the air as we arrived in Alabama.
