It’s been a month since a diverse group of ocean lovers descended on a beautiful coastal town in Italy for the inaugural Protect Blue event. The gathering took place alongside the Green Surf Festival and it’s aim was to bring together key players within the SUP industry to discuss how best we can lead the way when it comes to sustainability.
SUP, entertainment and environmental culture got together at the Green Surf Festival, last weekend in Noli, Italy. What started as a SUP race last year in 2016, with the Noli SUP Race, quickly developed into a global meeting of surfers, paddlers and environmentalists from all over the world.
From 14-16 July 2017, Noli, Italy will host the Green Surf Festival. Three days dedicated to SUP, surf & sustainability with the aim of reconnecting people back to nature, and giving all festival goers the inspiration, motivation, and most importantly, the tools to preserve & protect their environment.
The 11th stop of the EuroTour presented by Starboard brought us to beautiful Noli, Italy. With its breathtaking cliffs that come straight out of the sea and the old medieval town literally sitting on the beach Noli proved to be the perfect setup for the first stop of the EuroTour Italian leg.
After a successful launch on World Oceans Day and joining the Starboard SW Tiki Tour across California, Arizona & New Mexico, the SUPKids team are heading to Noli, Italy to run the first European SUPKids training program. They’ll be joining forces with the Noli SUP Race to run a 2-day training program for the founding SUPKids Delivery Centres in Europe. The training will take place on the 13 & 14 July, prior to the official start of the Noli event.

Ane Zulaika Aranburu has been one of the most consistent competitors across this year's European Cup, putting on a solid performance at the Barcelona SUP World Series to finish in 5th, then a runner up finish behind teammate Celine Guesdon in Finland, and now backing it up with a win here at the Final event of the Cup here in Italy after 2 epic days of racing.
The Italia Surf Expo World SUP Challenge is to kick off this weekend as the prestigious European Cup Final at this unique beach festival. Following this event, the action will head to Brazil, Japan, California and Hawaii to close the season.
