Supconnect Shares Brief Videos of New SUP Gear

 

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah - Each year Outdoor Retailer has a special summer market where manufacturers and retailers come together to talk about stand up paddleboard products old and new. ·Those involved make decisions about what will be the best fit for each respective market and have fun showing off what will be hot and new in the SUP scene for the coming year.

Just as in years past, this summer Supconnect was there and spent an entire week exploring, learning and conversing with both manufacturers and retailers! As media Supconnect also had the privilege of taking photos and video of much of the action and have a few items to highlight.

Boardworks Surf, for example had several boards on display that are new and exciting.  They include the MVP-X, the SHUBU (show up and blow up) Mini-Mod and Raven, as well as the Great Bear board which was made in conjunction with amazing paddler Norm Hann.  Watch and enjoy the brief video previews to the right.

FCS SUP is another manufacturer with some exciting news from the show.  Two new fins are being released soon and were made in conjunction with none other than two of the best stand up paddlers in the world, namely Candice Appleby and Eric Terrien.  They have also released a new fin system called the FCS II which takes changing fins to a whole new level without screws and keys! 

Two other companies that stood out included Ocean Minded and Glide SUP.  Ocean Minded is a company that produces high quality footwear and are also highly involved in the stand up paddle community.  At Ourdoor Retailer they made a statement with their display which showed trash that has been collected on beaches like the ones we use as our SUP playgrounds.  It was a wake up call and a good reminder to "Be Ocean Minded" and keep our paddle area trash free. 

Finally, Glide SUP put some of their stand up paddle yoga boards in the demo pool and had some extremely impressive SUP yoga going on by their partners, Paddle Board Bliss.  It was one of the best SUP yoga moments of the entire week so be sure to click the play button on the video to the right.
