Christopher Anderson Will SUP 50 States in 51 Days

Christopher Anderson is preparing to Stand Up paddleboard for 51 days in 50 states.

ANAHEIM, California - Christopher Anderson and supporters of·www.sup50.com will embark on a 51 day, 50 state·journey supporting wounded service members through Wounded Warrior Project™.

Christopher Anderson recently announced plans to donate all proceeds to assist service·members who have been injured in the line of duty. All proceeds raised through www.sup50.com and http://www.gofundme.com/23bdbw will be donated to the nonprofit·organization Wounded Warrior Project (WWP), and will support a full range of programs·and services for this generation of injured veterans and their families.

Over 47,000 servicemen and women have been injured in the recent military conflicts. ·In addition to the physical wounds, it is estimated as many as 400,000 service members·live with the invisible wounds of war including combat-related stress, major depression,·and post-traumatic stress disorder. Another 320,000 are believed to have experienced a·traumatic brain injury while on deployment.

WWP’s 18 programs and services are uniquely structured to nurture the mind and body,·and encourage economic empowerment and engagement.

Starting June 14th and lasting for 51 days, Christopher Anderson will start a journey to stand up paddle at least 5 miles in each of the 50 states.  This opportunity exists because of community: whether it is the small community of Anderson’s family, friends, or the·extended community of Anderson’s former students at Canyon High School in Anaheim,·CA. ·This opportunity exists because of the support and love that he continues to have from·those in the community.

Joining for parts of the trip will be colleague, Matt Dale. ·Brad Peterson, a veteran of the·Persian Gulf Conflicts, and Christopher Anderson’s mom, Lilo Harms, a widowed wife of an·Army veteran. ·Christopher Anderson has recently expressed his excitement and gratitude·when discussing the trip at a recent ASB meeting at Canyon High School, “The security of·teaching, along with the importance of building relationships is increasingly becoming·more conscious in my life. ·I am looking forward to sharing my passion of paddling and·the active lifestyle while raising awareness and money for the Wounded Warrior Project·(WWP).”
