YOLO Board’s Mileage Builder Series Returns

Presented by Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort, the series features individual competition in four endurance building races from May to August·

 

SANDESTIN, Florida – YOLO Board invites all area standup paddling enthusiasts to test their skills and learn from some of the SUP Industry’s finest at the 3rd Annual YOLO Board Mileage Builder Series at the Baytowne Marina in the Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort. The series includes four individual competition races that increase by one mile increments from one to four miles, a pre-race clinic with a SUP Pro, a one-mile fun race and free kids race at each event and much more. YOLO Board is currently seeking both community sponsors and race teams for this year’s series.

 

“We’re thrilled to be hosting the Mileage Builder Series again,” adds Mitzi Archer, Director of Marketing for YOLO Board. “The series is unique because it is a great venue for both experienced SUP racers wanting to compete and beginners wanting to learn. We’ve planned something for the whole family from kids activities to the one mile fun race to the pre-race clinics where a special SUP guest will offer instruction and paddling tips at each race. The Baytowne Marina is a terrific location and we can’t wait to kick off the race season in May.

 

Presented by Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort, scheduled race dates (weather permitting) are May 25th (one mile race), June 15th (two mile race), July 20th (three mile race) and August 10th (four mile race). All events will be held at YOLO Board Adventures at the Baytowne Marina. Race divisions, grouped by age, are 12’ Stock, 12’6” Race, 14’ Race and Unlimited. Rental boards will be available for racers needing equipment. Racers compete for the overall title in each division awarded at the last race. All events are open to the public and spectators are encouraged to cheer on their favorite racers.

A wide range of sponsorship opportunities are available for businesses and individuals wishing to support the series. For racers, a one-time entry fee of $85 per person for the four race series includes a complimentary event t-shirt, four pre-race clinics, refreshments and other great swag. Single race entry is $35 per person the day of each event. Registration starts at 8:00am followed by pre-race clinic at 8:30am and races at 9:00am.
