DESTIN, Florida – YOLO Board LLC together with presenting sponsors Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort and Sandestin Real Estate announce the dates of the 2011 YOLO Board Mileage Builder Series that will kick off on May 28th at Baytowne Marina in Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort.  The race event consists of a series of four endurance-building races that will take place from May to August: May 28th – one mile course, June 24th – two mile course, July 23rd – three mile course, and August 13th – four mile course.  Race paddlers vie for the champion title “2011 YOLO Board Mileage Builder Series” to be awarded after the final race in August.

“We’re excited to be teaming up with Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort and Sandestin Real Estate for the launch of the new YOLO Board Mileage Builder Series,” said Jeff Archer, co-founder of YOLO Board.  “Held in conjunction with our popular race series on Western Lake, this new event series will allow our local paddling community a great opportunity to rise to the next level performance wise.  The Mileage Builder series will be an endurance booster for the dedicated paddlers in our area, as well as those looking to challenge themselves with a distance course.”

A one-time season race entry fee is $70 per person for all four races (or a $35 day-of entry fee) and includes a complimentary event t-shirt.  Race divisions include stock 12', 12’ 6” race, 14’ race and unlimited.

Four paddle clinics will also be held in conjunction with the series allowing local paddlers the opportunity to learn about paddling technique, buoy turns, training and race strategy.  The schedule for all Saturday events (May 28th, July 23rd and August 13th) is Registration at 8:00AM, Paddle Clinic at 8:30AM and Race Start at 9:30AM.  The schedule for the June 24th race event is Registration at 5:00PM, Paddle Clinic at 5:30PM and Race Start at 6:30PM.

“As an added bonus, our paddle clinics will give participants an opportunity learn first-hand tips and techniques from some of the industry’s leaders including YOLO Team riders Gary Wise, Justin Cook, Andie Johnson, Michael Westenberger, and Brody Welte, not to mention a couple of surprise SUP guests we have on tap,” added Archer.
