Surfers Have Close Encounter With Southern Right Whale


NEW SOUTH WALES, Australia - Surfers and paddlers at Freshwater Beach, New South Wales, had a special guest visit their shallow bay last week - a Southern Right Whale. As beautiful and spectacular as these mammals are, not everybody was impressed by the crowd that gathered round to say hi. Getting too close or making the wrong impression on could have been very dangerous for the surfers (who look like ants circling a charred hot dog) and the whale.
