Sapinus Pro Gets Heavy as Semi Finals Near

SAPINUS REEF, Tahiti — The main event of the 3rd leg of the Stand Up Paddle World Tour started this morning at Sapinus. 10 foot plus and grinding. Grinding is often used to describe surf, Sapinus conditions were the definition of the word. Today served up some of the heaviest conditions ever faced by stand up paddle surfers.

The international field was pushed to their limits with snapped leashes, broken boards and two wave hold downs. Wrapping up an action packed day the quarter finals were concluded with the semi finals scheduled to start early tomorrow morning.
