5. King Of The Cut Attracts Big Names

Australia’s Michael Booth has won the 2016 Fiji ISA World SUP Championship, a 17km marathon race from Cloudbreak to Musket Cove in Fiji. Booth will be heading back home to Western Australia shortly to compete in the world’s fastest downwind SUP race, the Stand Up Surf Shop King of the Cut. Read more HERE.

 

 

 

 

 

4. Paddler SUPs To Protest Pipeline

Have you heard of the story of Standup4Greatbear Expedition? Boardworks SUP ambassador Norm Hann paddled 400km from Kitimat to Bella Bella, Canada, the proposed route of a pipeline. His mission was to bring awareness to the threat of these oil tankers, and doing so created a documentary about the expedition. Watch the Trailer HERE.

 

3. World’s First SUP Team Race In Hong Kong

Last week saw the official start of the Dragon World Series as hundreds gathered to be part of the debut event at Deep Water Bay, Hong Kong. Held at Victoria Recreation Club, 13 teams of four competed on Red Paddle Co’s brand new team racing board, the Red Dragon, to be crowned the winners of this inaugural event. Read more HERE.
