Cape Cod Bay Challenge Returns for 16th Year to Benefit Christopher’s Haven

CAPE COD, Massachusetts - The 16th Annual Cape Cod Bay Challenge (CCBC), the oldest and most recognized standup paddle (SUP) event in the Northeast, returns this year in person and virtually to benefit Christopher’s Haven, a home for kids when cancer hits home. Located near Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, Christopher’s Haven consists of nine fully furnished apartments and a community recreation area for families of children being treated for cancer in nearby Boston hospitals.

Over the past 16 years, the Cape Cod Bay Challenge has raised over $1 million to benefit Christopher’s Haven and has attracted nearly 650 participants. This summer the CCBC will offer three options for paddlers to participate: a 16-mile in-person distance paddle, a five-mile in-person “CCBC-Lite” paddle, and a virtual paddle. There will also be an After Paddle Celebration at the Levitate Backyard & Rexicana Surf Cantina from 1:00 pm to 4:30 pm on August 19 th (1871 Ocean Street, Marshfield, MA).

Event information, paddler registration, ticket information, and pricing can be found by visiting the Christopher’s Haven event’s registration website.

100% of the proceeds from the CCBC will benefit Christopher’s Haven, located at One Emerson Place in Boston’s West End, across the street from Massachusetts General Hospital. Over 500 families have stayed at Christopher’s Haven to date, and the Cape Cod Bay Challenge’s support over the past 16 years has contributed to making those stays possible.
