Who is it for?
If you’re looking for a stable, non-inflatable race board to paddle mid and long-range distances then the Bark Dominator Pro is worth a look. This stand up paddle (SUP) board comes in the Pro Elite construction which is somewhat durable and has both ups and downs. With its width being 28.2 inches the board is relatively stable and the board has 1.97 lbs per foot weighing 27.6 lbs total, making the board very lightweight for its length. Its shape makes the Dominator Pro a race board that can be used by intermediate paddlers for competitive paddling. Its construction and shape combined best fit this board for stand up paddle racing. Retailing at $2,399, the board is among the high-tier price point but comes with the best the brand has to offer.
First Impressions
On first impressions, the graphics and color are clean, the shape design is average and the construction strikes as somewhat durable. The Dominator Pro has a very simple look with clean stripes down the board greatly suited for racing. The shape design is commonplace, typical of boards in these categories, offering features tailored primarily for SUP racing. And the construction does appear somewhat durable if taken care of properly. This paddle board is easy to carry due to it being under 30lbs which is great for a board that size. The extra strap in the center of the board is also helpful when carrying the board. Although the width of the board is 28.2 inches the board does feel very stable and the glide is average. Once you put it all together, the Dominator Pro is a stable board geared towards intermediate to advanced paddlers who should be able to stand and paddle on it with ease.
