Sonni Hönscheid Wins Lost Mills on SIC Maui X-14

SAN CLEMENTE, CA - Sonni Hönscheid Won twice at the 6 star Lost Mills International SUP Race in Germany. The SIC Maui team rider finished 1st Friday in the 4km and 1st again in the long distance 18km main event. Sonni faced a very strong field of paddlers at Lost Mills like Australian Champion Angela Jackson and Olympic Gold Medalist Krisztina Zur of Hungary for three days of racing. The SIC team rider raced the SIC X-14 in the Sprint race, 4K and 18K main event. Sonni also finished 3rd in the elimination race on her SIC X-12 inflatable on day two.·

 

“I have been shaping flat water boards for some customers and team riders for several years” said Mark, founder and chief of design for SIC. “It was in 2012 we decided to go to production with a flat water design intended to win in any type of flat water race”. SIC is known for being the most dominant SUP brand in open water racing and in August 2012 SIC shaper Mark Raaphorst released his line of Flat water boards, the X-12 and X-14, to the market.
