ENCINITAS, California – Get on your stand up paddleboard a bust a move! Stand up paddleboard manufacturer and distributor Boardworks, is currently running the “What’s Your Move” contest on their Facebook page. Videos entered into the contest have a chance to win some awesome prizes and the submission deadline is November 29th, so get your videos in now.

With the impressive growth of the sport and with athletes crossing over from windsurfing, kayaking, canoeing, surfing, and other water sports, the boundaries of what can and can’t be done on a stand up paddleboard is increasingly blurred.

For example, the Duck Dive submission by Kai Lenny brings an important and often times overlooked skill of ducking diving in surfing into the world of stand up paddling. Think this looks easy? Go ahead and try it for yourself.

The contest, described on Boardworks’ Facebook page, is a “venue for sup enthusiasts to share some of their latest tricks, with the goal of entertaining and inspiring all of up to push the boundaries of fun.”

There will be three rounds of videos and the top two videos of each round will advance to the finals. The winner of the final round will be announced the upcoming Surf Expo from January 12 – 14. The voting process will be community based and will rely exclusively upon the number of comments, likes, and tweets attributed to each video entry.

First place wins an awesome new Boardworks Shubu inflatable stand up paddleboard along with some Boardworks gear. Second place gets some stuff as well as third place but who wants to be second or third? Check out all the entries on the Boardworks Facebook page and vote on your favorite moves today in the “What’s Your Move” contest.

Morgan Becker

After spending the first part of her life in Minnesota, Morgan traded in her snow boots for sandals and moved to sunny California. After graduating with a degree in Communication from The University of Southern California, she eventually made her way down south to San Diego and is taking advantage of the living by the best beaches and burritos California has to offer. If it’s sunny, you can find her at the beach relaxing, or exploring the calm water in the bay via paddleboards and kayaks.
