2012 SupConnect SUP Grom of the Year is MO!

With only 3 days left in the SupConnect SUP Grom of the Year awards the top groms were very close. ·Christopher Bluthardt had 243 votes, Dylan Frick had 213 and Mo Freitas had 177. Read how it all unfolded here.

Christopher had an amazing SUP year as well in and was the runner up in the 2012 SupConnect SUP Grom Awards.

SAN DIEGO, California - So exciting!!! With only 3 days left in the SupConnect SUP Grom of the Year awards the top groms were very close. Christopher Bluthardt had 243 votes, Dylan Frick had 213 and Mo Freitas had 177. Then with 2 days left Chris had 285 and Mo had increased his count to 267 with Dylan at 241. With about 12 hours to go Chris and Mo made a mad dash to the end and Chris was holding on to the lead at 388 compared to Mo who was up to 360. When the contest ended at midnight on the last day of October Mo had taken the lead with 486 to 430 for Chris.
With this amazing effort and sprint to the end, along with an incredible year in Stand Up Paddle, it is no wonder that Mo Freitas is our 2012 SupConnect SUP Grom of the Year! At 15 years old, Mo is a SUP stand out. Be it Paddle Surfing or Racing, Mo is mixing it up with the best in the world, learning, enjoying and growing in every moment. With the support of friends, family and his sponsors, Mo has a bright future ahead of him and those who know him feel that he has a true"Golden Heart"
